The Golden Horn is an inlet of the Bosphorus and is said to be the world’s largest natural harbor.

"Getting into the city from Erenköywas was always an experience for me. Either I took a long bus ride through miles of untidy looking new housing developments then over the new Bosphorus bridge, or, I would take one of the many small buses known as 'dolmuş' - this was usually a hair raising ride to the ferry at Kadıköy. The ferry was a pleasure, a well run service with boats every few minutes. The trip cost just a few pence and took about 20 minutes, offering fine views of both sides of the Bosphorus. Twice, whilst returning in the evening, I watched an impressive susnset over the city, its many large mosques reflected on the water." - MH
