"After a rewarding stay in Yenişehir I continued my journey, catching the early morning bus on to Iznik. It was harvest time and all along the road carts and trucks loaded with fruit and vegetables were on their way to the towns.

Iznik was an old walled town on the edge of a large lake and had a history dating back 3000 years. It was market day and there was also a fair in the town with many gypsies in their colourful dress. I would also have liked to have stayed there, but as the two hotels were both full I caught the 3pm bus to Yalova and the ferry backto Istanbul." - MH
