"From a sketching point of view, I think I found these two storey round houses rather comical srtructures, almost as interesting as the churches.
 
When we had finished our tour of the churches the student left me to visit his home, but later returned to join me for a meal at the hotel, followed by a local beer, completing what had been a tiring but enjoyable day. Next morning, still a bit tired, I was able to take it easy, revisiting the churches and other parts of the town I had found of interest, so I could have a better look and make more sketches. Also, during the day, I called at the local airline office, managing to book a flight back to Addis for the following morning, subject to it flying. That evening the student again joined me for a drink at my hotel, and agreed to accompany me on my walk down to the airstrip next morning." - MH
