"Getting away froom the heat of the plains was a pleasure in itself, but seeing Maymyo made me feel my holiday had really begun. After booking into a small hotel in the centre, for $5 a night, I set off to have a look around.

Maymyo, also known as Pyin Oo Lwin, had been developed as a hill station by the Raj who had renamed it Maymyo after a British Colonial, hence the two names. All round the town signs of the British influence were still to be seen in the many older buildings remaining, making me feel I could almost be back home." - MH
