"This church is built on one of the larger Maya burial mounds near Cholula. I found it was well worth the climb up to the top, for the fine view one gets of the surrounding area.
 
If every member of the local population was to use these many churches it is difficult to see how they would ever be full!
 
It is just as well I had not decided to make this trip in the reverse direction, as I doubt whether I would have got a lot further than this fascinating area. As it was, I was now into the morning of my last full day of the trip, so with much regret, I made my way out to the bus station to continue the last stretch of this journey to Mexico City." - MH
