"I spent the afternoon and most of the next day in the Pamukkale area, staying in a small pension in the village at the foot of the mountain. The village seemed geared up for people like myself with nearly every house offering accommodation. Many had small outdoor pools for bathing, but by the time the water had made its way all down the hillside it was barely warm.

In many ways I found the village nearly as interesting as Pammukkale, and enjoyed spending the last few hours walking through the leafy lanes between the nearby farms, before catching a dalmus back to Denizli in time to catch the overnight train for Istanbul. I had heard many stories about Turkey's very slow trains, but I thought it would make a change to spend the night in a sleeper and be continuing my journey, even if slowly." - MH
