"I flew from London to Sri Lanka with the Russian airline Aeroflot, not the best I could have chosen, but at £320 return, by far the cheapest I could fiind. It turned out to be a very long journey involving a 5 hour stopover in Moscow and not reaching Sri Lanka 'till late afternoon. Feeling exhausted, instead of making the extra 20 mile trip to Colombo that night I chose to head for Negombo, a town close to the airport. So nice and friendly was the small guest house I found there that I stopped two nights before continuing on to Colombo." - MH
