"While I was painting the shepherds herded their sheep up and drove them off down the track in the picture.
 
That afternoon after finding little to interest me in Olavato, I decided to follow a track over the hills to San Pablo Lake on the far side. It was a hard steep climb, up through a wooded area, but once on the top the views of the nearby volcano and shepherds tending their sheep, made the effort well worth while. With stopping to paint the picture above, then continuing on to see the lake, meant that by the time I came to return it was starting to get dark, and I had quite a job finding my way back down the trackinto the town. Despite a few worrying moments in the dark, towards the end it was a most enjoyable walk." - MH
