"The picture above, which was of a place close to the Luti Caverns, I painted by slipping away from the group for a few hours. While walking back to the hotel afterwards, I was met by one of our guides looking very worried because he thought he had lost me.

 

Kweilin was without any doubt the real highlight of my first China tour. This area in the Guangxi province is famous for its superb landscape, it was a place I had seen many pictures of, and had always wanted to visit. I was not to be disappointed, in fact it more than lived up to my expectations. For here, natural erosion of the limestone rock has produced some of the most fantastic scenery I have seen anywhere." - MH
