"As I left the bus on my arrival in Pinar del Rio I was approached by a lad on his bike enquiring if I needed a pension. It seemed to be my lucky day. As soon as I had got my bike unfolded and bags on i was following him off down the street to a modern looking house only five minutes from the centre. Within just 15 minutes of arriving in the city I was settled into a nice clean room in a B&B and starting to unpack, I could hardly believe my luck.
Though a fairly pleasant city with a few attractive old colonial buildings on its main street, it was not in the same class as Cienfuegos or Trinidad and I felt the few hours I spent having a walk round on the afternoon of my arrival were enough." - MH
