"Though I had not seen any mention of Adigrat in the literature I had read on Ethiopia, it soon became obvious that there was going to be pleanty in the town to interest me, and I was really glad we had stopped. In particular was the busy market and traditional circular church on the hill behind.
Despite having to endure a lot of hassle from people standing round me when I tried to make this painting, I felt the result I achieved had made it all worth while."
