Pamukkale, also known as "cotton castle" or "cotton palace" due to the most beautiful white travertines (calcium carbonate, deposited by rich mineral waters).

"It was an interesting place, the hot water coming from the springs near the top of the mountain and cascading down through many small pools, leaving a deposit of white solidified calcium on the way, so that from a distance it looked as if one side of the mountain was covered in snow. As for the town, there were a few expensive hotels, a cafe, souvenir shops and a museum." - MH
