"Sancti Spiritus was founded in 1514. It is now the provincial capital with a population of around 90,000.
View painted from the window of my room at the B & B where I stayed for two nights. It cost me $17 a night with a good evening meal costing $6 extra. This town, which I knew little about before I arrived, vame as a pleasant surprise. Its attractive old colonial streets, though a bit neglected were full of charm, and I had no trouble finding subjects to sketchand paint.
Despite it's size there seemed to be few shops or places to eat, if I hadn't been able to have meals at the B & B I don't know how I would have managed. There didn't even seem to be a dollar shop." - MH
